Last week just flew by, and I took wayyyy more pictures than necessary to fulfill my Project 365 duties. I should probably cut some out of this blog, but I like being able to use this project to document our daily lives, and if I delete some then I will be missing out on telling the story of how busy this past week has been!
Ft Worth Newborn Photographer | Project 365 | Week 13

82/366: My husband’s birthday! The birthday boy and his mini-me worked on fixing up a used air compressor in the garage. That probably sounds like a chore, but to my husband fixing up small motors and tinkering around in the garage is his bliss. It was extra special because his little boy is getting old enough to help out on small projects like this one.
For dinner we treated the birthday Cajun to some crawfish at Razoo’s. I also made German chocolate cupcakes with homemade frosting.

83/366: My son enjoying cascarones in the driveway. He has done these each Easter, but this was the first year he really got excited about them. It was beyond worth the $1.86 I paid for these things to see the joy on his face. It was so sweet that I actually went back to Wal-Mart and bought another set so we could do them again at my Grandma’s house on Easter.

84/366: A guest post from my husband’s iphone. While cleaning out the pool skimmer he encountered this sneaky fellow—a copperhead snake. Yikes!! The police showed up to re-home the fellow, but it sufficiently freaked us all out. We live on a creek and get a lot of snakes in the summer, but this is the first copperhead experience.

86/366: This was a huge day for me as it was my Snap Happy Momtographer Workshop!! I was really happy with how everything went and it was such a pleasure hanging out with my budding photog friends. As a Ft Worth newborn photographer, I love sharing my knowledge with others so that we can all capture beautiful images of our loved ones anytime we wish.
After the workshop, it was time for egg dying. Being that I am a photographer, I follow lots of other photogs on Facebook/Instagram, etc. and almost everyone was posting egg dying photos on Saturday. The thing is, I get a little jealous because so many photographers have these beautifully stylized images reminiscent of something Fixer Upper’s Joanna Gaines would put together. It seems like their eggs were perfectly dyed while their children were wearing precious, coordinating outfits and then they lay everything out in matching dishes with little wildflowers and such. Then there is my egg-dying experience. My son, in one of his dad’s throw-away grungy T-shirts, with our dye in old cottage cheese and margarine containers. Behind the scenes there is little parental enjoyment of this affair as we are stressed out over dye staining the the couch, curtains, skin, etc. So yeah, when I see other photographers posting these amazing egg dying images I’m kinda like, “What???” because that is so not my life. Maybe people are genuinely like that, and the Parkers are just gonna show their freak flag here.

87/366: Easter Sunday. A beautifully busy day. Holden woke up to his Easter basket and an egg hunt. Later in the morning we attended church. After church we had down-time, but then headed over to my Grandma’s house for more egg hunting and Easter dinner. Plus, we celebrated 6 family birthdays from the months of March and April while at my Grandma’s house.
A side note: We did these Resurrection eggs all through Holy Week, and I was in awe of how much this little boy picked up on. On Good Friday, as we talked about Jesus and the cross, Holden told me, “Mama–this is very sad and it makes me cry.” Was not expecting that observation from a 4year old. On Easter Sunday, I was pleased to share the good news that He is Risen and talk about how the death and resurrection of Jesus gives us a final assurance of happy endings.

88/366: Allergies are kicking all our butts, but this little guy seems to be suffering really bad right now. Love this photo of him curled up in my bed watching a movie with his water and his special stuffed animals, Rex and Chase.
