Giving myself a round of applause because I am sticking with this whole Project 365 thing.
As a Keller newborn and baby photographer, I have grown accustomed to doing a lot of studio work and this photo-a-day challenge is definitely making me stretch creatively. I am also taking a class online that I hope will help me in the coming weeks. I had some ideas in mind for the week with strong lighting, maybe exploring free-lensing some more. Truthfully, I fell quite short of the vision I had in my head. However, I’m trying to extend some grace to myself and remember that it’s a win simply to get a photo each day. I know from my last time around with a Project 365 that there are good photo days and bad photo days. Sometimes I am in love with what I’ve captured and other times I am totally in the dumps beating myself up thinking I totally suck at this whole lifestyle photography thing.
Anyway, I clicked the shutter. I got the photos. Are they all my very best? No. Did I learn some things? Yes. Can I do better in the future? Yes.
PROJECT 365 | WEEK 2

8 l 365
Last day of winter break. I know the baby is going to miss his brother when he’s back in school. Who else in our family is willing to build him flux capacitor rain stick towers?

9 l 365
Big bro is back in school, so it’s just Baby J, Mommy and lots of toy time.

10 l 365
The baby usually goes to sleep about 45 minutes before my oldest, so my husband and I each try to do some one-on-one stuff with Holden in the evenings before bed. Lately, when it’s my evening with the big kid, we try to have a mini game night. Right now our obsession is “Guess Who.”

11 l 365
Searching for snowflakes. A rare sight in Texas. We were disappointed when the snow only lasted 3 minutes. Not even time to put on a coat.

12 l 365
Friday afternoon with my boys. Holden builds elaborate ships, towers, castles and mazes out of Magnatiles. He has had these things for over three years, and I definitely think they rank among his favorite toys.

13 l 365
Oh, the places you’ll go!
Little Judd soaking in/slobbering all over the wonders of the world. One of his favorite places is big brothers room, probably because of the cool non-baby stuff he can get into. This globe is actually from the 80s, so Judd is simply taking out the USSR with his drool, it’s all good.

14 l 365
Extra day off for MLK Day. We left the baby at home with a sitter and enjoyed a mommy/boy date at Mellow Mushroom. I love having extra time with my boy, but there are rumors of snow and ice tonight (thus extending this three day weekend into a four day weekend) and I am like “go away snow miser. This kid needs to be back in school.” *Fingers crossed*

Good for you for keeping up this resolution to do a photo a day. I love following all of your baby, newborn and personal photography work in Keller.
Awesome job on your Project 365. I’m sure it’s something fun and new to do when you normally photograph babies and newborn ins DFW, Trophy Club and Keller.
Your photography makes me want to have more of my own babies! I love how you put a personal touch on your work in Keller with this 365 project – it shows you are dedicated as a photographer!
Great job girlfriend! Keep up the good work. I know you love sneaking in some personal photos of your own baby too.
I love that you are doing a project 365, it serves two great purposes: you’ll have all of these great memories of your children when they are little, and you are also continuing to master your craft as a baby photographer! Keller is lucky to have such a hardworking photographer in the area!
I really need to do a project like this too! I love photographing my baby girl. Of course, I’m not an amazing photographer like you so my photos wouldn’t look this good — ha! But still…
This does remind me, I need to book a session with you when we are back in Keller again! My baby needs her one year portraits.

That’s so awesome your sticking to your challenge. I love the documentary style here of your kid and baby in Keller. We can always improve as photographers, and I think it’s great your expanding your creativity and challenging that.
Your photographer work is remarkable! do you only do newborn sessions in Keller? Would love to know if you travel, my sister-in-law is due in March and is interested in a session!
Congrats on sticking with the 365! As a photographer, I’m terrible at keeping up with them! Sometimes it’s refreshing to take a break from all those baby pictures you do in Keller and get a little creative with something new! Love your work, keep it up!
