What a joy it was to photograph Miss Everly Joy’s first birthday cake smash in my DFW baby photography studio last week! Photographing this little lady was extra special for me, because I know her mommy from church. I knew about this wee babe when she was just a peanut in her mommy’s tummy. I’ve had the pleasure of doing her newborn, sitter and now first birthday pictures. EJ is very close in age to my own munchkin–about three months younger, so I also kind of have my eye on this beauty as a future daughter in law. Hey…you never know.
The truth is that most babies really don’t want a lot to do with their cake. Sometimes we have to stage the process quite a bit, but EJ had tried cake a few days before at her birthday party, so she was well prepared for this cake thing. I especially enjoyed how she tried to eat cake with her foot, because, why not?
