Hey there friends. Project 365 | Week 42 is complete. Can I get an ‘amen’ that the sunshine is finally out again?
Last week was dreary and we were stuck inside (again) so I feel like a significant amount of my photos revolved around food and drink (because what else are you supposed to do when it rains?). I have been pretty good about sticking to a low carb diet for about a year and a half, but I swear I have had more cheat days than good days during October. I blame it on the disgusting weather and the fact that our bodies are biologically compelled to want to eat all the things during times of gloom. Gloom equals winter, which equals scarcity of food, which means we are driven to eat more, right? Just me then…mmmmkay.

I never drew up in a coffee and tea household, so it’s taken a long time for me to develop a taste for these beverages. But, as I have grown older and my need for caffeine has become desperate, I have resorted to training myself to drink low calorie/unsweetened beverages. I’m pretty good with cold brew with a splash of unsweetened almond milk, but I still won’t drink hot coffee. Enter the yummiest tea ever – Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Tea. All other tea tastes like dirty water to me, but this stuff is legit. I am actually considering buying additional flavors and branching out a bit now that I’ve become accustomed to this particular tea. So glad I had some on hand for the cold and wet spell we had last week.

Rain, rain…seriously, you can go away now. We walk to school every single day, rain or shine. My rain boots and rain jacket have gotten their workout this week.

My husband has been working a lot lately, so on this rare weekend day that he was home I forced him to help me take Halloween costume pictures of the kids. You can tell he (and the kids) were super enthusiastic about it. I’ll post the end product at some point, but for now you can enjoy this sneak peek behind the scenes to see how glamorous a photoshoot really is.

Baby J is into everything, and he is mostly drawn to all the big kid toys in his brothers room. Bonus of having age gap kids is that I can let baby J have unfettered access to brother’s room while the big kid is at school and big bro is none the wiser that the baby was all up in his toys. Shhh…don’t tell.
