Week 29 of this DFW baby photographer’s Project 365 went a little better than the past two weeks. The baby was finally over hand, foot and mouth disease and we are starting to move past the initial shock of losing our dog Bailey.
It’s mid-July, and Mother Nature has left Heat Miser in charge of Ft Worth. It’s all 110 degrees, and there are basically two options at this point–either you go swimming, or you hide indoors with the curtains closed. We’ve done our fair share of both this week.

197 | 365 Baby J spending a lazy day at home recovering from hand, foot and mouth. This was his first fever free day in 4 days, so it was really nice to have him acting like his normal rascally self again.

Like I said, it’s mid July in Texas so we basically live in the pool.

Yup..more pool time. I donut think this boy is having any fun at all this summer.

The only time you can go to the park and not sear off your skin on the slide is 7-8 am. Since my circus wakes up at 6:45am, it seems to work out okay. The only issue is the park is totally quiet and abandoned. I guess everyone else is scared of Mother Nature. Seems we always have the park to ourselves lately.

After several days of swimming, we finally needed a little indoor break. I recently purchased Monopoly Jr for my son and he is obsessed. I mean, he sits in his room and reads over the rules just to learn new strategy. It is such fun now that he is older and can play games that are actually interesting from an adult perspective too. I can’t wait until he can spell well enough to introduce him to Scrabble.

That song, “Easy (Like Sunday Morning)” just doesn’t resonate with me at all. I’m usually solo-parenting it on Sundays, and it is quite the undertaking to get myself and the children ready in time for church. This week’s solution was to turn on the vacuum robot. Baby J happily chased it while I prepped for the day, and Holden was happy to chase the baby. Plus, my house is now clean. Talk about a win-win.

A little more inside time. Just trying to keep cool.
