This DFW baby photographer is doing a happy dance because the sun is out! I repeat, the sun is out. All the boy moms out there are like, “Amen!” Seriously, if I have to spend another moment cooped in this house with the two little rascals I am going to lose my stuffing. These children have a legitimate need to spend time outside every day, whether that’s in the yard, visiting a park, attending soccer practice, swimming. Really, any source of activity will do. I can’t stand when we get that slow, drizzly, on and off ran thing for a week. Granted, that rarely happens in Texas, but when it does I feel confined and my children act like lunatics. We aren’t made for that. That’s why God planted us in North Texas, not the Pacific Northwest or the rainforest.
Anyway, in case you aren’t getting the message, last week was a rather rainy affair. Again. We spent a tremendous amount of time in the house, and it got to be a little boring. At some point, our source of amusement became chasing the robotic vacuum around. I also gave the baby a stack of Solo cups to crinkle up and build with that amused him for an hour. I’m creative like that. Thanks, Pinterest for helping me realize my full mom potential.

Yes, we got desperate enough to play ‘chase the vacuum’.

H playing with his slingshot upstairs. This item has since been confiscated and is now living it’s worst life in a dumpster heap someplace. When it rains, moms do stupid things like let their children play with slingshots indoors. Around the baby. Spoiler alert–it never ends well.

Finally, a release from the drudgery. Enjoying our LSU Tigers play ‘those other Tigers.’ This was the first game my husband had been home for this season. Originally my son had a soccer game that competed with the LSU game. Our plan was to attend H’s soccer game, record our LSU game and watch it later in the evening. Then, the soccer game was canceled due to soggy fields, so we actually got to watch the LSU game live. It was so exciting to have our whole flock together. We went wild–we ordered pizza, had adult beverages AND ice cream. I know, we live dangerously. So much fun though, and a last second field goal to seal the win.
