As a DFW newborn photographer, it is always a tremendous joy when I get to meet back up with the babies I’ve photographed as they celebrate their first birthdays. It is such an important milestone, and I am very honored when a family chooses me to photograph their little one throughout that first year of life. You can see Charlie’s newborn session here.
So, it was with great excitement that I welcomed little Charlie back into the studio for his first birthday/cake smash session. I was especially excited because this little guy’s dad works in aviation, so we got to pull some cute pilot-inspired items into the photos. I have a pilot hubby at home, so anything airplane theme is kind of a big deal in this house.
Charlie was a very low key baby for his session. He offered some adorable smirks, and had a lot of serious faces too. When it came time for cake, he was pretty excited and eagerly reached for the sweets…but after a few bites he had hit his limit and decided that was enough for one day. I wish I had that gene, because if there is a cake in front of me I would have gobbled that beast down.
Little guy really didn’t get fussy until the very, very end of his session, but I figure it’s his birthday and he can cry if he wants to.

Oh Heather, this is the session that convinced me I gotta get on your schedule for a Newborn Photography session. Your images are so clean and sharp. I love the way the baby’s eyes look.
