This Ft Worth baby photographer has completed Week 3 of my Project 365 challenge.
Also, this past week was EXHAUSTING. We had a school holiday (which you would think is relaxing…but no); a makeup swim lesson a half hours drive away, dog vet visits, our older son’s 6 year friend birthday party and then the baby’s baptism. My mom and her husband were in town for the weekend for the birthday and baptism festivities. Plus, we hosted 15 of our family members for a post-baptism Mexican food buffet.
The weekend was especially jam-packed, and everything went off without a hitch, but this introvert is left with a bit of a “people hangover” this Monday morning. In fact, I went to bed fairly early last night, got a solid 8 hours in, and still woke up groggy. My husband even had to wake up our kid for school, which literally NEVER happens as my boy always jumps out of bed the second his alarm clock gives the “okay to wake” sign. If he doesn’t come bounding into my room at 6:45am then it usually means he is sick. Totally he was just peopled out like his mommy and need the extra rest I guess.
PROJECT 365 | WEEK 3

Took the boy to Party City to choose favors for his birthday party guests. Of course, he wanted all the things.

Only Sam’s club can make this baby look tiny. Chubby babies are the cutest.

I am one of those parents who keeps to a fairly strict screen time routine. I mean, there are plenty of exceptions to the rule—like college football season, vacation and family visiting. However, on a normal weekday this guy gets a 30 minute television show and then 5 minutes of Ipad or computer time before bed. This evening, and most evenings of late, he has chosen to play Rhyme Time on PBS kids. This game is way too easy for him, so I’m not sure why he enjoys it. I kind of love when he still plays these “baby” games though because it is a tie to his toddler and preschool days. Now that he is an elementary big kid, I see so many new influences on him, like him wanting to watch Captain Underpants or play Minecraft and I’m like, “noooo….you’re still a baby!! Go play with your Tickle Me Elmo.”

Brushy brushy. Otherwise titled, “Leave me alone Mama.”

Someone is not so happy I just woke him up from his nap. Thought I’d continue with the “Leave me alone Mama” series.

Holden’s 6th birthday friend party. Poor guy actually turned 6 a full month ago, but due to the holidays and the nature of his daddy’s job we had to postpone his party for a whole 30 days. He didn’t complain though, and I *think* his Nerf battle party delivered lots of fun for everyone. In fact, I even saw some of the parents in attendance having quite a bit of fun too. This is Holden and his friend attacking Charles, who totally deserved it by the way. No mercy.

Baby J’s baptism. Such a special and important milestone as we welcomed this little guy as a child of God before our family and friends. So excited to see him learn about Christ and grow in faith over the years. Thankful for a wonderful church family who has agreed to support Judd and also Charlie and I as we raise this little guy in the ways of Jesus.
