I spent the majority of Week 16 visiting the family farm in Evening Shade, Arkansas. I traveled with my son, my grandma, and my dad to visit my great uncle. As a child I often visited the farm with my whole family—sisters, grandparents, parents, aunt/uncle and cousins. I have so many lovely memories from those times, and I was excited to return and share some of that experience with my son. Plus, it is always refreshing to escape suburbia and be surrounded by the quiet of nature. And cows.
My husband stayed behind for work, and he also decided to use the time apart to engage in a re-tiling home reno project. That project remains incomplete. Actually, I jest. The tiling project IS incomplete, but I want to give proper praise to my husband for all his hard work. It is just too big of a project for one man, and he is doing his very best to plug away at it. We are getting to a state of normalcy where I can access the kitchen area at least. The only downside is that while he finishes the remainder of the project we are left with unsealed travertine which tracks dust EVERYWHERE. So thankful to have a handy husband who is willing and able to do all these home reno projects, so a public shout-out to his amazingness as he continues to work his fingers to the bone getting this done.
