So, confession–I am not a big Halloween person. I know it’s apparently like a thing, as evidenced from my entire neighborhood putting up almost as many spooky themed decorations as they do holiday decorations. But, alas, it’s just not my cup o’ tea. Now that I have a 5 year old though, I am being forced into some spooky cheer. I even put up some spider web junk in the front yard.
The only real part of Halloween that I can appreciate is dressing up my babies in adorable costumes. My oldest had costumes sewn by his Nana for the first few years (back when I could pick his costume and he would happily wear it). Now that he is older he wants to choose the off the shelf stuff–Paw Patrol, Star Wars, etc. His choice this year was DarthVader (because he ALWAYS wants to be the bad guy). I personally would have gone with a cute little lamb for Baby J, but his big brother requested R2D2 and I’m like okay let’s go for it. I think baby J appreciates his onesie more than a lamb costume anyway, although with the 100 percent chance of rain tomorrow night I am thinking R2D2 might have an electrical malfunction.
May the force be with us against the storm tomorrow and may my oldest child not cry tears of candy corn if Halloween is rained out!!
